The Grammy winner is a very hot topic of the 60th Grammy Awards as the there are more than one contenders join the Top Four categories race. Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar, and Bruno Mars are the most nominated musicians in top four categories. Jay-Z, the 48 years old rapper has been nominated in 8 categories for his 4:44 album. Kendrick Lamar has managed to put his DAMN album in 7 nominations. Jay-Z and Kendrick Lamar are in a great contest in three of Top Four Categories including Song of The Year, Album of The Year, and Record of The Year. In other hands, Bruno Mars is a genre outsider who has been nominated in 8 categories for his 24K Magic.
The Album of the Year seems to have wider contenders as Melodrama of Lorde has joined the race along with Awaken, My Love! of the Childish Gambino. Jay-z is leading the race of 60th Grammy Awards, but he surprisingly won’t join the other performers on the Grammy 2018 stage while Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, and Bruno Mars is scheduled to enliven the ceremony. The Grammy winners Top Four categories remain a secret until revealed at the ceremony, but there are certain predictions that enhance the euphoria.
Well, speaking of which, we should put Lorde out of the contest at the very beginning as she seems to have a plain platter compare to other contenders especially in Album of the Year. Lorde has not yet managed to defeat her Pure Heroine which was an incredible debut in 2013. Bruno Mars is a very strong contender who should be seriously considered, however, due to the mainstreaming constellation, 24 K magic seems too light to fight Jay-Z and Kendrick Lamar. What it’s more interesting is the Childish Gambino’s “Awaken, My Love!” as it’s not an only threat but certainly a Grammy winner candidate.
This will direct us to the tight race between Jay-Z who have brought a big presence of hip-hop entrees in Grammys. The albums, 4:44 is surprisingly nominated in categories which have been unfamiliar to the kind of genre for the past 17 years. It’s actually a historical moment where the hip-hop can hold the reign in biggest night of music world. It’s still questionable as Kendrick Lamar and Bruno Mars still have the chance to take over the crown. Besides, Lamar and Mars have a positive campaign as they’ll enliven the ceremony put the humble thoughts of their personalities.
Well, at this point, the prediction is lead to genre war whether it’s hip-hop, R&B, or Pop. All that can be said is that the three contenders have the same chance to be Grammy winners, but certainly we can conclude that top Four categories are our main indicators to recognize the real authentic Grammy winner. However, when it should be a prediction, then it’s DAMN by Kendrick Lamer while the Album of The Year may put Bruno Mars as the front-runner but Despacito by Justin Bieber actually has a bigger chance. The Record of The Year is in critics as the voters exclude important records like Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” or simply Sam Hunt’s “Body Like a Backroad”. Well, it has to be a prediction, Despacito will have the biggest chance.
